Product Description

Saint Agatha was a young Christian maiden who was captured during the Roman Persecution. The governor wished to profane her virginity, but when she vehemently resisted despite his threats, he subjected her to unspeakably brutal tortures. Upon laying in the prison in agony, Saint Peter suddenly appeared and miraculously healed her mangled body. The enraged governor had her then declared her execution the next day. She is one of the most courageous martyrs of the Church, and patron of breast cancer, nurses, and victims of sexual assault. This statue, standing a height of 12 inches, is cast in plaster and painted with soft and subtle colors. Etched in the statue’s base is the inscription: “St. Agatha.”
